Hi Bashir, I LOVE Yoast. It was not easy to set up and I had to make some changes along the way but it is great with Twitter Cards and the way your posts look when shared too. The only concern I have is that I have some soft 404’s for author, attachment, feed and WP contents. Not sure if it is a Yoast issue. Something I have to explore more when I have the time. Love to know if you have any ideas on that too 🙂 Thank you.

Hi Lisa,
Glad to know that you love Yoast plugin like me. I personally use it on my all blogs and trust me its very easy set up. Yes I liked the all social features included in this plugin, twitter cards, Facebook meta.
I’ve not faced any issue with Yoast plugin. Your problem seems a permalink structure. Did you use the permalink feature in Yoast plugin? I’ve few tips for you.
1. Deactivate Yoast and check soft 404’s pages gone? If not then Goto cPanel -> File Manager -> wp-content -> and rename plugin folder something “myblogplugins”. Once you done it, all plugins on your blog will be deactivated. Then check again 404’s gone or not. If gone then it must be something wrong in any of your blog plugin.
2. Again repeat the same process, and rename the folder to “plugins” then go to blog dashboard and deactivate 1 by 1 plugin and check 404’s error’s. I’m sure you’ll sort out the issue.
Please let me know if you need any help.

I use WordPress SEO by Yoast. Many bloggers consider that plugin to be the best. There are free and paid versions of that plugin. I have this question : is paid plugin any better at all ??? I can’t find answer to that question anywhere.
Best wishes,
