If you’re handed a magical book that contains everything you must do to become a successful blogger (Let’s call it blogging pill), the book is made in such a way that once you read it, you must start making money online immediately (guaranteed). You don’t need to do any other thing, just read the book and the money will start coming. Will you read it?
……………..I bet you would!
Now let me give you a shocker….. Sorry if I triggered your curiosity, but unfortunately, there’s no such book in the world.
If such book of magic exists, I will probably not be here by now typing this. Think about it, how many times have you ever seeing another bloggers income report and wished you’re like him?
How many times have you desired to start making money more than Jon Morrow, Pat Flynn, and the other gurus on the internet?
If you’re like most people, I guess you will be having such feeling and wishful thinking often but then………………if wishes were Horses!
It doesn’t happen that way. There’s no push button that once you hit, you will start making cool cash from the internet. The good thing about this type of business is that you must first work your ass off before you can see any significant result.
If you started it thinking that you can scam your way to wealth then, sooner or later, you will have your ass handed to you.
Another good thing is that you can do this, making money from the internet via blogs is not a rocket science, it does not require any special skill, and it’s not made for a specific group of people.
Anyone (including you) can build a sustainable income from the comfort of your home.
Now, the question is how is this possible?
What exactly does it take to attain such a remarkable height while you’re probably blogging on the side?
You’ve perhaps been blogging for many years with little to nothing to show for it or, you’re new to blogging and still imagining if those income proofs you often see online are real or fake.
Listen to me; you can achieve anything you want in life as long as you’re willing to work it out.
Every big name you’ve seen on the internet is real. All the case studies on how someone created a 6 figure income in a few years are also real; however, what you must also understand is that it doesn’t happen overnight.
Yes, there’s no magical formula to making money both online and in real life, except through some dubious and questionable means which will eventually throw you behind bars. (I’m sure that’s not what you want)……..Me too!
The bad news is that you can’t become a successful blogger out of nowhere, you must work your way to it. In other words, you must earn it. It doesn’t come on a platter of gold.
Pat Flynn is one of the most celebrated, and respected bloggers on the internet today. Believe me; some bloggers even envy his income reports, but what they often forget or fail to understand is the fact that he has been on this since 2008, if I’m correct, that’s about nine solid years of hard work. I bet you might know little to nothing about the internet back then, not to talk of blogging.
The good news is that you can do this too.
In this blog post, I will share with you the top 5 proven strategies that will guarantee your blogging success in a few months from now.
Without further ado, let’s get to the main thing.
Guaranteed Steps To Becoming a Successful Blogger
1. Know Why You’re Doing This
This is one of the fundamental steps to succeeding in any business. You have to figure out the major reason why you’re doing it. This will end up fueling your energy until you make it.
Like Simon Sinek said in one of his TED Talks, you need to figure out your big “WHY”; it is only when you know why you’re doing what you’re doing that you will continue doing it even in the presence of adversities.
So tell me, why are you blogging?
Is it to:
- Help people achieve their dreams, and get paid in doing so?
- Positively Impact people’s lives with your knowledge thereby make money as a reward?
- Build a side income guaranteed to replace your 9-5?
- Make quick and easy cash and then, disappear?
- Gain more exposure and popularity so you can market your products and services?
- Massively attract the attention of your prospective clients so they’ll know what you offer?
- Doing it because others are doing it and you want to be like them?
- All of the above?
Let me tell you the truth, whatever you identified as your primary blogging purpose will affect the way you go about it. That’s why it’s vital for you to know this before starting.
Simon also wrote an excellent book on that titled “Start with WHY”, you might want to check it out.
2. What is Your Definition of Success?
If you don’t know what success means to you then, you won’t even know what you get to your destination.
Success often means different things to people. What you see as success might not be the same thing your friend thinks as being successful.
It is therefore imperative to know what success looks like to you because this will help you to find out when you achieve it.
To me, having a huge social media following might be what being a successful blogger means whereas to you, it could be getting lots of comments on all your blog posts. And to some other person, it could be having huge email subscribers.
To many other people, it could be:
- Having millions of page views
- Having lots of people enrolled in your course
- Knowing and connecting with all the influencers in your niche
- Having thousands of followers on Twitter
- Making 6 figures/year
- All of the above
- Etc.
It could be any of the above, but the major thing is to figure out what it is because, without that, you won’t even know what you’re looking for let alone knowing when you’ve acquired it.
3. Know Your Target Audience
Get it right now, you can’t be targeting everyone on the internet and expect to become a successful blogger; it doesn’t happen that way at all.
If you desire to succeed with blogging (Of cause, that’s what you want), you must know your ideal clients and customers then, target them alone while overlooking every other person.
Like Frank Kern rightly said in his book, “the first thing you need to do before you go forth and start trying to get clients is to choose the right segment of your market”.
Let’s use the Florist Niche as a case study….
……………..Let’s assume you’re a florist, a research carried out by the National Floral Marketing Institute showed that “men under the age of 35 spend 30 dollars on flowers during Valentine’s Day while, men between the age of 45 and 60 spends 350 percent more.
Isn’t that jaw dropping?
This simply shows that you can easily get that extra 350% increase in revenue by just targeting the right segment of your niche.
If you waste time targeting the people who doesn’t need what you’re offering in the first place, you will struggle to get your name out there because no matter what you do, it will be useless.
But when you focus on the right people, they will always spread the word to their friends thereby making you popular.
4. Learn How To Write Irresistible Copies
Everything that takes place in the blogging world today involves content marketing. It does not matter what type of website you’re running, you can’t possibly do well without proper content marketing.
I bet you’ve heard the cliche that “Content is King” before.
But do you know the shocking truth? It’s not just any type of content, but epic and useful contents.
Mediocre contents no longer carry any weight on the internet, and if you want to become a successful blogger then, you must start building your writing skill.
You need to learn how to write such articles that will always open doors and land you consistent and repeat clients.
The good news is that it doesn’t take any particular thing to write good contents, all you need to do is to repeatedly horn your writing skill. You can only get better with time, and consistent practice.
Even popular copywriters like Stephen King and others weren’t born a great writer, they mastered it, they learned it, and it became a part of them. You should do that too.
According to LinkedIn Technology Marketing Community “Top three things that make content effective are: Engaging and Compelling Storytelling (57%); Triggers a Response/Action (54%) Audience Relevance (58%);”.
If you do not have the time to learn and write catchy blog posts, another good option to outsource it to freelance writers.
Hire other professional writers and they will take care of all your writing tasks while you focus on other vital aspects of your business.
It will also interest you to know that Marketers are outsourcing 18% of their content, with the remaining content being created in-house, curated or syndicated. So, if you can’t write well, outsourcing might be your best option.
Similarly, start learning how to write longer contents. Another research by Curata shows that “Long-form blog posts generate 9x more leads than short-form blog posts”.
5. Don’t Be a Cheap Blogger
The truth is that in any business, both online and offline, if you’re not willing to invest money and spend on your business, you will hardly be successful.
Quote me anywhere!
No business can blossom without proper investments except perhaps, it’s a hobby.
Many bloggers hate spending money on their blogs, and they’re the same people that will always be searching for free tools here and there, and they will still expect people to respect and called them pro blogger.
The good thing about WordPress is that it does not need much money to set up. I mean with a few bucks, you can create a blog that will end up replacing your day job.
Therefore, if you’re serious about building a successful blog, invest on your blog, and at the end, you will rip the reward bountifully.
Wrapping Up
You can achieve anything in life if you put your mind to it. You just have to believe in yourself and understand that you can become a successful blogger. After that, follow everything I’ve laid down here and work your way towards achieving your goal.
It requires no special sacrifice aside your willingness to work hard and smart. Those bloggers you admired on the internet started small and, worked hard until they made it.
They’re doesn’t have two heads, neither are they super humans; they breathe exactly the way you do therefore, stop wishing and start acting. Wishing will never take you anywhere. Remember, action speaks louder than voice.
Therefore, stop every other thing you’re doing right now and get to work. You can come back and thank me with a bottle of bear later.
