5 Ultimate Tips to Increase Your Website Conversion Rates.

Getting traffic to your website is great. But if that traffic doesn’t convert, then it’s useless.

Let’s run an experiment, imagine the two sites selling the same products to the same people with the same design. Site “A” is receiving hundred visitors per month whereas Site “B” has several thousand visitors per month. How would site “A” increase site revenue?

If your answer is “increase its traffic”, you are in good company. Strategies like content marketing, SEO, and social media marketing all these are designed to increase traffic, are both popular and effective but they are not the only way.

The best strategy used by web development agency to increase traffic stream on the website is to increase the conversion rates.

The conversion rate is a measure as how many times a site user converts – which could mean filling out subscription or contact info form, clicking on an add or buying any product, depending on the type of your business. The Internet employs many methods to improve conversion rates because higher conversion rates typically generate a greater return on investment.

So the question is how you can increase the number of conversions on the site?

1: Experiment with the Layout:

5 Ultimate Tips to Increase Your Website Conversion Rates.

  • Landing pages of any website do 3 things.
  • They inform the user what your company or business has to offer.
  • They interest you in their offer, explaining to them what make your company better.
  • They make it easy and clear as for how a user can follow through on your offer.

The content, layout, style and functionality of any landing page gives enough information to motivate users to convert and get them in their desired direction. Experiment with the position of the page elements. Vary the text and images. Check if the text field have to be long? Should the call-to-action button be in different color? Try different user experiences and change functionality.

2: Make the Call-to-Action Button Unmissable:

The call-to-action button is what asks the user to convert. It can be a landing page for a product or a form to sign-up. Whatever it is, it needs to be prominently visible. Make it stand out with a unique design or with a pop-up.

It is a one way to potentially improve conversion rates as to experiment with different calls-to-action buttons. You can try CTA text or even icon on the button as well. Don’t be obnoxious about it but do make your call-to-action button prominent. Test out different variations to see which one works best.

3: Be Straightforward:

Provide the visitor with absolutely everything about the products, their features, and the benefits. What does it look like? What are its uses and how it will deliver?

Consumers have a strong BS-detectors that knows they know when you are being transparent and when you are covering up a defect. So instead of trying to use a gimmick or manipulative languages, be straightforward about it. Include bullet points about the advantages or disadvantages of your product clearly and make the value be very visible to your customers. The more honest and upfront you are, the better.

4: Leverage Social Voice:

Use social voice in navigation, promotions, to build credibility and for research and customers feedback. It is important not to just listen but also utilize the voice of the customer.

Add features like rating in the navigation to get honest and peer opinions which are great. Let the customer’s voice shape the content you write. By analyzing the customer’s conversations, you can review strengths and weaknesses if your brand/product. Implementing user generated content can increase your website authenticity.

5: Keep it Simple:

Don’t ever go overboard with flashy designs. No aggressive pop-up ads, flashing lights or tons of exclamation points, seeing these things on the website will probably turn the users away. The simple the design and offers are, the more likely your customers will be willing to convert.

Use a handful of words to make the product or offer compelling enough. People crave for visuals because sight is the strongest sense, so include a video or image based demonstration about your products or services.

Bonus Tip: The key to a highly converted website is to test, test, and test. What works for one website may not work for another.

The best marketing campaign is to have a balancing act between increasing the traffic and increasing the conversion rates. A great conversion rate without traffic and great traffic without conversion are incomplete without each other. So work to get the best of both the worlds.
