How To Install WordPress On HostGator

WordPress is best and most popular self-hosted blogging platform. Getting started your own WordPress blog  is quite easy, and the very first step is to install WordPress on  HostGator  hosting account.

Most of the shared hosting  like HostGator and BlueHost offers a quick script to install WordPress, and you don’t have a need to take manual steps to create your WordPress blog. In this post I’ll be sharing a complete guide which you need to install WordPress on HostGator hosting.

Complete Guide How To Install WordPress On HostGator

HostGator offers many options to install WordPress on their server.  But in this installation guide I’ll be using  the Fantastico De Luxe  method to install WordPress on HostGator.

This is a very easy method, just a few clicks and your WordPress blog will be installed and up.

 

First Step:

Log-in to your HostGator cPanel account and find the  Software/Services and click on Fantastico De Luxe.

Second Step:

After clicking on Fantastico you’ll be redirected to the Fantastico page where you’ll see a list of  all scripts. Now click on WordPress.

On the next page, click on New Installation to install WordPress on HostGator.

Third Step:

On this page you’ll see given below WordPress installation options.

  • Domain name:
  • Admin User name:
  • Admin Password:
  • Admin Nickname:
  • Admin Email:
  • Site Name:
  • Site Description:

If you want to install WordPress in your root directory, then leave it empty. If you want to install WordPress on sub-directory like  http://ProWPBlogger.com/blog then  type the directory name “blog”.

Enter your admin username and password for  the WordPress blog login after installation. Make sure to type the correct email address. Rest of setting you can change later.

Have you done everything right here? Now click on Install WordPress button.

On the next installation page, it will show you information about the MySQL database name which it is going to use for your WordPress blog.

So copy and paste your MySQL database name and MySQL  username and keep it safe for future use. It also shows where the blog has been installed. Click Finish Installation!

When the installation is complete, you will see a confirmation screen which shows the blog URL where your  WordPress blog has been installed, along with the admin login name and password.

You can select to have this information emailed to yourself by filling out the Email the details of this installation to the  box titled and clicking Send E-mail.
